My weekend began on Thursday at 4pm… and didn’t end until Monday at 1pm.
It began something like this…
drive to Bham, (almost run out of gas) , Danny made potatoes and baked brie to contribute to dinner at Laura and Josh’s house. We were running short on time, so we only had an appetizer before we had to leave the house for the show. We went to the cabaret theatre to see RENT! Laura and I had seen CHICAGO there before, so we kind of knew what to expect. We didn’t tell Danny or Josh anything about the venue until the car ride there, and we didn’t tell them anything about the play until it was about to start! haha A cabaret theater feels kind of like a comedy club, the audience is really close to the stage and you sit at little tables with your party. The play was pretty good… but I definitely liked CHICAGO better.
After the show, we headed back to the house for a late dinner. The next morning we were up and gone by 6am! My flight home left at 7:20. I went home this weekend for Nick and Erin’s wedding in Madison WI. Friday was mostly about driving around with Debbie! just like old times
She showed me all of the projects shes been working on, including this really awesome old barn/garage!
debbie and taffy filled half of this dumpster with contents of the garage!
these stairs were not attached at the bottom! she lifted them up to demonstrate! haha
sorry this picture is crooked, but i really like it! This in the loft looking at the small back window.
debbie’s door collection. a great jump start to her architectural salvage store she needs to open!

It fits perfectly!!!!
Today I received a package from Plainfield, Illinois with a lot of really awesome things! The most impressive one of course is my new sweater! My mom knit this sweater for me! Also in the package was a special gift for PieLab… an apron, and a knotted/loop picture thing! (mom, what are those called??) By the way, you can now donate directly to the new pie shop online!
Also in the package was a VW print from my dad, a watercolor titled “Illinois Leaves” by Debbie Olsen, ginger cookies
, specialty coffee, and of course the usual… car insurance card, newspaper, and random mail from auburn still sent to my home address.
